Dresden, 1905
Carl F. W. Becker, a trained chemist, is one of the leading pioneers in the development of corn plasters with a special ointment active ingredient.
Shortly afterwards, he founds the Lebewohl factory with 15 employees. September 25, 1915: Carl F. W. Becker founds VELIDRO, the protective association for suppliers in the drug trade, in Angermann’s Restaurant in Dresden.

Advertising back then
The demand for corn plasters is high, prompting Carl F. W. Becker to launch intensive advertising campaigns.
Carl F. W. Becker quickly realizes that humorous advertising is highly accepted by the public. Well-known cartoonists such as Paul Simmel from Berlin caricature scenes for advertisements, coloring books, timetables and advertising films.
In addition to caricatures, realistic depictions on posters and displays complement the advertising measures. In 1908, Lebewohl wins first prize at the first major trade exhibition of the German Druggists’ Association.
